Hands love roses
No matter how hard we try to look youthful, without a proper care, the skin of our hands will always reveal our true age. Therefore, we should never overlook this important and constantly exposed part of the body.
Hands come into contact with millions of bacteria and impurities every single day, therefore the proper hygiene is essential to the health of their outer shell. You should keep in mind, however, that too frequent washing is not healthy for the skin, as it leads to depletion of the surface lipids, disruption of its flora, and as a result, the amount of harmful microorganisms actually increases.
You should not underestimate the type of soaps you use, neither. It is certainly better to abstain from those that contain synthetic coloring agents, preservatives, artificial flavors and other aggressive ingredients that can irritate your skin and strip away its natural beauty. Instead, opt for soaps with natural components and gentler action.
Washing your hands with hot water should also be a taboo, as it undoubtedly causes excessive dryness.
Also, we need to be mindful to the preparations we clean our homes with. If we are not able to replace them with completely natural or organic ones, it is better to at least limit their contact with the skin, by wearing rubber gloves.
Last but not least, freezing cold, scorching sun and strong wind are factor that we should protect our hands from, too, because extreme weather and sudden temperature changes deprive the skin of sufficient moisture.
No matter what the weather is like (hot, cold or cloudy) the sun should always be a main concern. Exposure to sunlight is one of the major causes of premature aging, so wearing a hand cream can keep our skin young, fresh and soft.
Rose oil is one of those priceless natural ingredients that the skin on our hands would always enjoy, regardless of the time, the place or the weather.
Thanks to its powerful antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, the essential oil extracted from roses provides a superb protection against a whole range of pathogenic microorganisms and reduces the need for frequent hand washing.
Containing more than 300 various components, the rose oil is a nourishing food the whole body and, in the same time, a hydrating drink for the skin. It restores moisture, lost due to daily activities or climate, while also covering the hands with a protective film blocking its re-escape.
Furthermore, this miraculous elixir soothes irritations and supports the regeneration of damaged tissue. It also improves blood circulation, preventing the hands from frostbite in winter.
Besides all that, rose oil is an excellent tool to combat solar radiation. It has a sun protection factor (although lower than some other oils) and a huge amount of antioxidants, which combat photoageing (also known as "dermatoheliosis"), characterized by roughening of the skin and the appearance of pigment spots.
Lexira products rely on the superior all-embracing effect of pure Bulgarian rose oil, which in combination with other natural ingredients provides a complete care for the hands – our most “human” feature - the one we use to caress and hug.
Lexira set a higher standard after its memorable debut last year.
